Non-Degree Application

This application can be used by students taking courses for personal enrichment/interest, to fulfill admissions requirements for entry into a NCF graduate degree program, or to transfer credits back to a home institution. Students who take classes but are not earning a degree at New College are classified as non-degree. Regular in-state and out-of-state tuition applies.

In addition, Florida residents age 60 and over are eligible to enroll in New College courses tuition-free on an audit basis.

No grades are given for course auditors and no credit is earned. Attendance is restricted to the meetings of the approved course. Auditors do not participate in other aspects of college life and do not qualify for other student services. Auditing privileges may be denied or revoked at any time. New College reserves the right to limit the number of courses audited by any one person.

Visa Information

When entering your visa type, consider the following definitions which are adapted from the US State Department. Note that this list is not all-inclusive. Refer to the US State Department for more information.

B-1 Visitor: an individual who wants to enter the US temporarily for business.
F-1 Student: an individual who wants to study at a US academic institution. This is the most common student visa type.
H1-B Employee: an individual who wants to work in the US in a specialty occupation.
J-1 Student: an individual who wants to study at a US academic institution. This is generally used for students in educational exchange programs (e.g., Fulbright Program).
J-1 Teacher, Researcher, or Trainee: an individual who wants to teach at a US primary or secondary school, research at a US institution, or train in an occupational field at a US business.
Refugee: an individual who is located outside of the US, is of special humanitarian concern to the US, demonstrates that they were persecuted or fear persecution due to race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group, is not firmly resettled in another country, and is admissible to the US.
Visa Waiver WB: an individual from a Visa Waiver Program (VWP) participating country that allows travel to the US for business stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa.
Visa Waiver WT: an individual from a Visa Waiver Program (VWP) participating country that allows travel to the US for tourism stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa.
Other: an individual who has received a visa type not listed. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and more visa types may be available in the application.

The College reserves the right to limit the number of courses audited by any one person, to limit the total number of auditors in a particular term, and to change this policy. Auditing privileges may be denied or revoked at any time.
I understand that if approved to audit a course I will not receive credit, a grade, and that no record demonstrating my enrollment in this course (transcript) will be available. I further understand that if I have provided sufficient forms of acceptable legal documentation proving Florida residency and if age 60 or over my fees will be waived pursuant to the applicable Florida statute, 1009.26 – Fee Waivers.
I understand that regular in-state and out-of-state tuition applies. Course payment must be made by the published deadline. Any course auditor with an outstanding balance after that time will have their access to this online course revoked. Payment is non-refundable.
